3 Years Old!

It's really not that hard to believe that Lily has turned 3 because she has been acting older than that for a while. But on Sunday she did turn 3 for real. For her birthday cake she requested a pink cake with pink frosting and pink sprinkles...she even picked out pink ice cream. We had a family party for her and she said it was a great party and she loved it. Lily's main present from us was a dollhouse that I have spent the last couple months working on as soon as she was off to bed. She had already seen all the little dolls and furniture I had been making because she kept catching me working on them in the craft room. So when she opened the box and found them she had a look on her face that said "what the heck are these doing in here?"
Lily has really gotten into dressing up lately so of course she loves her new dress and high heels! Lily is such a big helper and is my constant shadow. She is super excited about her new baby sister that is coming because she can't wait to play dress up with her. And she has already decided that she will babysit her sister every morning when I take Eric to school so that they won't have to go out in the cold (Skip will be home too). Lily is quite the diva at times but she is one smart cookie and such a sweetheart. We are lucky she is a part of our family!

Baby's Space

We are still undecided on the baby's name, but at least her space is all done and ready for her!

Eric Shots

I left my camera by the computer to download Halloween pictures. And these are a few extra shots that I found...Nice of him to include his sister in his photo shoot. The other 2 dozen were random shots of the toys all over the floor of the room...no need to show those!

Halloween

We had a fun...but cold Halloween this year. For the first time ever I had to get sweaters and long johns to make the kids costumes warmer...just doesn't get cold in Florida. Eric picked his costume based on the awesome swords that came with it...typical boy. Lily saw the skirt and wings and just had to have one.
So we ended up with a nijia and a butterfly fairy this year. We started off with a little pumpkin carving. Lily's favorite part- pulling all the guts out. Eric's favorite part- carving.
Friday night we went to a party at the church. Both the kids tried to eat a doughnut off a string- both ended up with their tongues sticking out trying to get the doughnut as it swung by. Skip and I couldn't stop laughing!Saturday we went to Layton to hang out with Skip's family. We went to a trunk or treat, where it ended up pouring rain, and got moved inside the church building. The kids had a great time and got lots of candy. We got home in early enough that we were able to take the kids around to the other houses on our street. Totally love the fact that everyone was out trick or treating on sat night!

Diva and Snow

Lily has really gotten into dressing up lately. She is quite the little Diva!
It's snowed twice this week! On Day one I couldn't find my camera anywhere. Luckily I found it and was ready this morning! The kids are super excited about the snow and if I would've let them Eric would've been making snow angels instead of going to school this morning.

Rock On...

Since we did end up finding out what the baby is before it is born...I have started to work on HER space. I was in need of a comfy rocker and I found this one on KSL for only 40 bucks...a great steal since the one I really want is $350. Didn't really love the color, it was stained, and it really didn't fit with the colors I had in mind for "Peaches" space... And here is the way it looks now. Totally fun and unique.
I took apart a crazy quilt I had made a few years back and used it to make a fitted slip cover. It's pretty cute and sassy so it should make those late night feedings a little more fun.

Buffalo Hunt

This past Friday Eric didn't have school so after hitting up Cabelas, Skip and I took the kids out to Antelope Island to see the great Salt Lake. It was a fun day trip. The kids and I played around in the stinky salt lake, then we drove around "hunting" buffalo. This big guy was nice enough to stand next to the side of the road so we could get a good picture We also saw a fox and a few antelope. Eric was having a blast shooting all the buffalo until Skip told him that he would have to skin them and eat them...

Hooray for Soccer!

Eric and Lily had their first soccer games this weekend. It was a blast watching the bunch ball.Waiting for Eric's game to start. Gotta love the one size fits no one uniformsEric played goalie for the first half and had some awesome saves. Pretty Excited about playing soccer!
Lily had a blast running around the field. The whole game she would run in the "bunch" laughing. She had a huge smile on her face the whole game! Her one big kick of the game! Both kids had so much fun playing and we got a good laugh watching. I'm so excited that we have 6 more weeks of this!

Ogden Valley

A couple weeks ago Skip took the kids and I to the Ogden Valley to show us around where he grew up. It was fun to put a place with all the stories Skip has told me about growing up. Eric and Lily thought it was really cool to see where Daddy was a little boy. We did some off roading up into the mountains. The kids loved it when Skip would drive crazy and fast.Skip took the kids for a little "rock climbing" The only sad part about the trip was when Skip took us to show us his Elem. school...only to find it had been torn down and was an empty lot. The only remains where the flagpole and the playground that Skip had jumped off as a kid and broken his foot.

What a Summer!

We did make it out alive after our cross country road-trip. We did however loose a whole day when the car broke down. But all I can say about that is it could've been a whole lot worse! As soon as we got to Utah it was family reunion time! We spent the weekend playing around with my family. We got to go have a cookout and toast/burn marshmallows up in the canyon. We went swimming(and i have to admit it was a little cold for us poor thin-blooded Florida folk), we tye-dyed shirts, we had a family minute to win it game. Proud to say that Skip, the kids and I won. Check out the picture on the side to see our sweet prize! Hip Hip Hooray! We got to go to the temple with Ashley, and take some pictures before she is off to the mission field. It was soooooooooooo much fun to be with my family! It's been almost 2 years since we have all been together at one time, and it was a blast! Eric and Lily had so much fun with all their cousins. And we finally got to meet the 2 newest members of the family, Dakota and Duke- such stinkin' cute babies. The time flew by but it wasn't as hard saying good-bye when everyone had to leave, cause we live closer now and it won't be forever till we get to see each other.
The following weekend we headed up to Steamboat Springs, CO to hang out with Skip's family.Steamboat Springs is my kind of town, small with lots of charm. Skip's sister Heidi had some awesome rooms for us to stay in. We got to go swimming, and shopping in the cute downtown, hang out, catch up, and go tubing. This was the first time the kids and I have ever gone and it was fun. Skip took Eric and Lily one at a time and they loved it. I went the next day with Skip, his brother Jesse and the kids. Lily was so relaxed sitting with Skip that she totally fell asleep on him. It was alot of fun and I look forward to going again, when I'm not pregnant...it was a little hard to move with the belly in the way!
Skip headed back to Florida to do a little more work and the kids and I have been trying to get settled into a routine. Eric starting school has helped that. He loves school and is excited everyday to go. Poor Lily really wants to go to. We are finding all kinds of fun stuff to do to keep us busy. Last weekend the kids went to their first Farmer's Market. Loved It!
I finally found a doc here in Utah and go in for my 1st appt, this week. We should know what the baby is by the end of the week. Skip still feels the need to know what we are having but I'm still leaning toward not finding out till the baby is born. I told Skip he could find out if he had to, but I know he would tease me non-stop about it till the baby's born, so I guess I'll find out...or maybe not...

Movin' On

This is our last week living in Florida. Next Sat we will be on the road to a new adventure in Utah. I've been having lots of emotions about this move (mainly cause I'm pregnant and don't have any control over my emotions) Oh Florida, there have been lots of struggles living here! Good times too...
I'm sure I'll miss the sun and heat this winter when there is endless snow, but right now I'm looking forward to a change in the weather.
I know for sure that there are some wonderful friends that I have made over the past 5 1/2 years here that I'm going to miss. Tears have already fallen as I have had to say good bye and I'm sure more will fall as we make our final debute at church on Sunday.
The thing I am looking forward to the most about this move is being closer to family. I won't have to spend all day on a plane or 4 days in the car just to see family. I'm really excited that I will be having a baby with family there and can't wait for my Brothers and Dad to stand in the circle to bless this little addition to our family. I'm excited for my kids to get to know their aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents (it breaks my heart how often they ask for Grammy and Papa, but I have to tell them no) Now we get to be a part of all the fun activities we keep hearing about!
Here's to you Florida- can't say I'm not excited to be getting out of here!

Work With What You've Got...

Last Saturday Skip took the kids with him to play basketball at the church. I told them I would follow shortly to watch them and bring breakfast. I got there just at the right time...
Poor Lily had had an accident...
I didn't have a single item of extra clothing in the car...
Lily refused to wear the only thing we could find- the jacket Skip keeps in his car...
So we did the only thing we could think of...Since her shirt was to short to cover her bum we turned it upside down...
Only problem...
she thought it was great and only wanted to wear her shirt like that for the rest of the day...

I'll show you

Dear Mom,
Since you won't let me paint my own nails...well I'll show you just how creative I can be...See permanent marker works just as well as nail polish.
Love Lily

The Big 5

Eric turned 5 yesterday! Where in the world has the time gone? It's hard for me to believe that my Little Man has turned 5. He has had quite the fun time celebrating it too. He got to have a pizza and cupcake party at school with all his friends. And then he got to have a Lightening McQueen party with his friends from church.Everyone got to color and decorate their own car...Go swimming get lots of treats from the pinyataand eat yummy cake.
On Saturday we had a family party.Started off with opening presents.
Eric and I went out to lunch and then he got to go to Target and spend his "million dollars" that Grammy and Papa sent him. It's was so much fun having one on one time with Eric. He is such a sweet little boy. How did I get so lucky. After lunch we picked up Skip and Lily and went to the movies to see Toy Story 3- loved it! When we got to Chili's for dinner Eric asked me if he could get steak because he's 5 now and it was his birthday. So Eric and I shared a steak- little guy ate more of it then I did! The Chili's crew brought out a molten chocolate cake and sang to him. He kept trying to tell us it was his cake and we couldn't eat any of it- he even grabbed 2 spoons and started digging in. It was a really fun day, and I have been incredibly blessed with having Eric as my boy. He is forever telling me that he loves me. He helps me and has already told me that he will take care of the baby. He helps Lily and takes great care of her. He's even yelled at some boys at the pool who got to close to "his sister".
Love you Eric! Happy Birthday Bud!
