What a HUNK!

Soooo yesterday was intresting. Skip had to work, (his boss told the homeowner that Skip would work all weekend to get the dock done...)and ended up getting a big sliver, really deep in his finger. He tried to get it out but couldn't even see the end of the sliver. He had gotten it around noon and by the time he got home his finger was swollen and he couldn't bend it. He had stopped by a walk- in clinic on his way home and they wanted $300 bucks to take it out (oh the life of no insurance). I called our friend Crystal (an ER nurse) and she told us to come over to the Hospital, that one of the doctor's would take care of it. What a huge blessing! It's hard to believe that there are still nice people to be found in South Florida! We dropped the kids off at our good friends the Wilson's and headed to the ER. It's a good thing we went because there is no way we would've ever gotten that sliver out on our own. The had to slice Skip's finger to get the sliver out!Honestly you can't really call that a sliver- that's a hunk of wood! Skip is doing well but has to be super careful to keep his finger clean and free of infection. Never thought a sliver would cause a trip to the ER. Thank goodness for friends and doctor's willing to help out (for free!)

Bikers

Eric is the proud owner of a new bike! He got to go to WalMart and try out a couple different bikes and helmets. After only 10 minutes he was a pro and ready to ride around the store.Lily is still in the let's just push the bike around mode. Eric loves his bike but now asks me every morning if he can ride his bike to school. That's the plan once he gets a little better at staying on the sidewalk!

Precious!

Last night as I was trying to get ready for Enrichment, Lily brought her new nail polish set to me and wanted her nails painted. She showed me what color in the case she wanted but as soon as I took the little bottle out she said "Daddy do it!" She took the nail polish over to Skip and said "Daddy paint my nails" And he did! Lily was smiling the whole time and Skip did a pretty good job! And he thinks Lily isn't a Daddy's Girl!

All Dolled Up

My new calling at Church is as the Relief Society Enrichment Leader- and I have to say I LOVE IT! My first activity was last night. It was a service and homemade goods auction. The theme was all dolled up. So the room was decorated with glitter, jewels and of course feather boa's. We had a pretty good turnout and the money was flying! It's always great to get all dressed up and spend spend spend!
I helped Ash make this poster before she left- awesome job Ash!
One of the two dolled up dress forms. I didn't even get a pic of the other one and it looked super cute!
just a great quote-makes ya think.
It was a really fun night but I'm glad it's over! Already working on the next activity in Nov!
